Annabell Harless-Homan left for her final resting place on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in the company of family at the Mitchell Care Center in Mitchell, Nebraska. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Methodist Church in Valentine, Nebraska with Rev. Corey Jenkins officiating. Cremation has taken place per Annabell's wishes therefore, there will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the family and will be designated at a later date.
Annabell was born December 13, 1914 in Hamill, South Dakota, the fifth of eight children to Loyd and Annie Gertrude (McAnally) Harless. She spent the majority of her life on the ranch she established with her husband, Aloid. There they raised four children west of Crookston, Nebraska. Annabell was a dedicated teacher, spending seven decades in the classroom. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, deer hunting, gardening, and bowling.
Survivors include her sister, Della Harless-Hurlbert; four children, Harley (Jane) Homan, Jerry (Jackie) Homan, Lyn Homan-Rumpeltes, and Gail (Glenn) Schleve; 15 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren.
Preceding Annabell in death were her parents; siblings, Roy Harless, Ralph Harless, Halley Harless, Edith Harless-Werner, Effie Harless-Williams, and John Harless; son-in-law, Gale Rumpeltes; granddaughter, Geri Rumpeltes-Bowhay; and great-great granddaughter, Danika Huston.
Memorial service for Annabell Homan age 97 of Valentine, will be on Saturday, July 14 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Valentine. Mrs. Homan passed away on July 10 in Mitchell, NE.
