A funeral service for Arlene Ohlmann-Green, 87, of Dickinson ND, formerly of Valentine NE, will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Dickinson with Pastor Michael Wolters officiating.
Services in Valentine, NE will take place on Thursday, November 21, at 11:00 a.m. in Sandoz Chapel of the Pines of Valentine with Pastor Matt Krenke officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Visitation for Arlene will be 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Thursday, November 21st at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines.
Arlene passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at St. Benedict's Health Center in Dickinson.
Arlene Ruth Bonge was born February 11, 1926 in Valentine, Nebraska, the daughter of Anna (Block) Bonge and Wayne Bonge. She was raised and went to school in Valentine. Arlene married Edwin Ohlmann on May 21, 1946. They were blessed with two children, Beverly (Ohlmann) Gabbert and Eldon Ohlmann. They lived in Valentine, Kimball and Omaha, Nebraska. Arlene's husband, Edwin, passed away July 6, 1982. She had worked as a bank teller and bookkeeper most of her life. After retiring in 1991 in Omaha, she moved back to Valentine. Arlene later married Harry Green and upon his death she moved to North Dakota to be closer to her daughter.
Arlene was a member of the Lutheran Church which she attended faithfully. She was active with Ladies Aid and the Senior Citizens Center in Valentine. Arlene loved old time music, dancing, and playing cards and Skipbo with her family and friends. She also loved to go shopping with her daughter.
Arlene is survived by her daughter, Beverly Gabbert (Dave) of Dickinson; five grandchildren, Tracie Ohlmann of Los Angeles, CA, Eric (Marcy) Gabbert, of Bismarck, Cory Gabbert of Dickinson, Brandon (Sherry) Gabbert of Beulah and Shawn Gabbert of Fargo; three great-grandchildren, Alexandra Schrader Gabbert, Taylor Gabbert and Riley Gabbert.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands, Edwin and Harry; son, Eldon; a brother; and sisters.
