Arvella Rae Foster was born July 25,1935, at home to Floyd and Beatrice Polen Foster and passed away May 27, 2023 at the Sandhills Care Center in Ainsworth, NE.

She received her education through the 8th grade in a little country school near where she grew up and graduated from Valentine High School in 1953.  Right out of high school she attended Chadron State Teachers College for the summer and started teaching in the fall at a one room school near Springview, NE.  Through summer school in Chadron and off campus courses she went on to get her Bachelor and Masters degrees.

She loved children and taught school for 43 years retiring in May of 1996.

Arvella also loved the Lord and made her choice as a teenager to serve him. She remained faithful to that choice the rest of her days.

She leaves to mourn her passing a brother Charles Foster (Evelyn) and sister Charlene Twitchell Nielsen (Garry).  Four nephews: Bryan and Larry Foster, Jayson and Kevin Twitchell. Nine great nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, niece Desiree Foster and brother-in-law Milton Twitchell.

Funeral service for Arvella Foster age 87 of Valentine will be held on Thursday, June 1 at 1:00 PM at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine.  The burial will follow at the Sparks Cemetery in Sparks, NE.  Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the funeral at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines.
