Bernard Douglas Lesher was born in Sargent, Nebraska on December 19, 1957 to Harvey Eugene and Barbara (McGuire) Lesher.  He attended elementary school at Dist. #136 and graduated from Thedford High School with the class of 1978.

Bernard married Joy Lentfer in Kearney, Nebraska.  She was the love of his life and even though they later divorced they always remained good friends.  Bernard worked as a ranch hand, the sale barn and various jobs through his life.

He was a member of Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Brownlee.  Bernard enjoyed fishing, old westerns, rodeos and gardening.  He enjoyed life and his many friends.

Bernard passed away February 15, 2019 at Avera St. Anthony's Hospital in O'Neill, Nebraska at age 61.  He was preceded in death by his father Gene, a brother who died in infancy; brother, Jim and sister in law Gerry Lesher.  He is survived by his mother, Bobbie; brothers, Dick (Roberta) of Chadron, NE, Tom (Deb) of Ft Collins, CO, Ron of Mesquite, NV and sister  Mary Ann (Glenn) Bostock of Valentine

Memorial service for Bernard D. Lesher was held February 21, 2019 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Valentine.  Fr. Lou Nollette officiated at the 10:00 A.M. service.  Inurnment followed at Hill Crest Cemetery in Thedford.  Sandoz Chapel of the Pine was entrusted with the arrangements.
