Obituary

Betty Ruth Yeast Fischer Quigley was born on November 27, 1920, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Harold and Helen Yeast. After graduating from high school in Valentine where she grew up, she went to secretarial school and then worked for the Army Corps of Engineers during World War II. On March 30, 1951, she married Harold Fischer and they lived on a farm near Council Bluffs, Iowa. In 1954 they relocated to Valentine and purchased the hardware store belonging to Betty's father. She was a longtime member of the Presbyterian Church in Valentine. After Harold's death in 1963, she married her attorney, William Bryan Quigley, in 1973. When he passed away in 1995, she moved to Jackson, Wyoming, to be near her son, Mark Fischer. In 2001 she moved to Boca Raton, Florida, and became a resident of St. Andrews Estates. On August 27, 2011, she passed from this life to heaven to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Ruth Tennies, her son, Mark Fischer, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Boca Raton Christian School.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine, NE at 11:00.
