Betty Lucile Hansel, 70, of Lincoln, NE, passed away on October 9, 2011 in Lincoln, NE. She was born to Hans Johnson and Mildred (Smith) Johnson on July 11, 1941 in Valentine, Cherry Co., NE, the third of four children. She attended school in Sparks and Valentine, NE.
She met her husband, Fred Hansel, during an evening of dancing and they were later married on April 1, 1999 in St. Mark Lutheran Church in Lincoln, NE. No children were born to this union.
Betty and Fred enjoyed traveling all across this continent together.
Betty worked as a welder / carmen for Burlington Northern Railroad.
She was an active member of TOPS, Eagles, American Legion and the VFW and a member of the Moose Lodge where she helped serve many of the lunches. She loved to dance, was an avid seamstress and quilt maker.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Hans and Mildred (Smith) Johnson, and her step-father, Ervy Osburn.
