Obituary
Shannon Blaine Sokol was born December 26, 1943 to Shannon and Hazel Porath Sokol in Valentine, Ne. He passed away on August 25, 2011 at the Pine View Good Samaritan Center in Valentine at the age of 67.
Blaine attended school in Kilgore and graduated from Kilgore High School. After graduation, Blaine ranched with is father on the Sokol ranch north of Kilgore. Blaine's favorite hobbies were hunting and fishing.
Blaine was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Valentine.
He is survived by his mother, Hazel Steingrube of Redwood City, CA; sisters, Dawn Coffman of Redwood City, CA, Connie Steingrube of Redwood City, CA, Cindy Lau of Manton, CA and brother, Neil of Moraga, CA.
Memorial service for Blaine Sokol was held on Tuesday, Aug. 30 at Grace Lutheran Church in Valentine. Pastor Luke Bernthal officiated at the 11:00 AM service. Inurnment followed at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine. Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was in charge of service arrangements.
