Obituary

Clarence Milton Nollett was born  February13, 1929 at home in Todd County, South Dakota to Martin  and Irma (Lurz) Nollett.  Clarence died October 21, 2019 in Valentine, Nebraska at the age of 90 years 8 months.   He attended grade school at the Vis School, Todd County, South Dakota.   He graduated from High School at Kilgore, Nebraska in 1946

Clarence served in the Army 1951 to 1953.   He was trained as a helicopter mechanic.  He was stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, Fort Eustis, Virginia  and Fort Benning, Georgia.

He lived on the home place nearly all his life until October 2014 when he moved into assisted living in Valentine, Nebraska.  He raised cattle and ranched with his brother Lyle until Lyle's death.  He continued ranching and was proud of the quality of his cattle.

His other interests were photography. He liked to take pictures of barns and old buildings.   He was interested in the different construction of barns.  He took many pictures of plants and put together a book of plant and grasses.  He was always interested in the plants and animals in the prairie.

He is survived by two brothers Norman and wife Helen Nollett, Martin Nollett of Valentine, one sister, Carol and husband Dale Lunsford of Chapman, NE, sister-in-law Joan Johnson and husband Lewis,  Five nephews, James Nollett of Valentine,  Kenneth Nollett of   San Diego, California , Mike, and Christopher Nollett both of Lincoln, Steve Lunsford and wife Brandy of Franklin, Nebraska and two nieces Laura Fothergill and husband Fred of Herford Texas, and Melinda Solan and husband Yair of Brooklyn, New York and 10 great nieces and nephews, and many friends.  Preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lyle and Raymond.

Mass of Christian Burial for Clarence Nollett age 90 of Valentine will be held on Wednesday, October 30th at 10:00 AM at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Valentine.  Burial  will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.  Rosary and visitation will be on Tuesday, Oct 29th at 7:00 PM at the Church.  Mr. Nollett passed away on Oct 21 at Pine View in Valentine.
