Darlene Clements Bonheimer was born on November 16, 1932 to Lawrence and Hazel Clements of Valentine, Nebraska. She attended school in Valentine, graduating in 1951. Darlene worked at Clements Furniture until her marriage to Ken Sandoz in December of 1952. They lived on the Sandoz ranch south of Rushville, Nebraska until Ken was called into the army. They moved to Valentine after Ken was discharged. Ken and Darlene were blessed with a son and daughter, Rick and Regina.
After moving to Phoenix, Arizona, Darlene was employed in the Executive Office of Ramada Inns Incorporated. Shortly after her marriage to Dick Bonheimer the family moved to California.
For years Darlene has resided in Phoenix. She was adored by the many children she worked with at a school for the underprivileged. It was her delight to be a grandmother. She was fortunate to live close to her grandchildren which allowed her to be very involved in their lives. She will be remembered as being a very loving, kind and caring person.
She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her two children, six grandchildren Shawna, Rick, Ryan, Megan, Taylor and Gracie, and sister, Elaine Hahn, of Valentine. Darlene will be greatly missed by her many friends and family.
Funeral service for Darlene Bonheimer will be at 1:00 Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Chapel of the Pines in Valentine, NE. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
