Dorothy Eleanor (Cumbow) Kreycik was born to Fredrick A. and Alice (Shaul) Cumbow on April 4, 1925 in Valentine, NE. She married Jack S. Kreycik on June 19, 1945 and they made their home on the Kreycik ranch near Wood Lake, NE where they raised their four children. Dorothy passed away May 3, 2011 at Pine View Good Samaritan Center in Valentine, NE at the age of 86. She is survived by children David (Paula) Kreycik of Douglas, WY, Bruce (Margo) Kreycik of O'Fallon, MO, Mike (Terri) Kreycik of Ainsworth, NE and Ann Kreycik of Fort Collins, CO. She has nine grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack, sister, Pauline (Wade) Davenport, and brother William A. (Jean) Cumbow.

Dorothy devoted her life to her family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was accomplished as a pianist and used her gift to play for the Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, reading and friendships. After her husband's horse accident in 1988 she lovingly cared for him.

She will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her. Services were held on Saturday, May 7 at the Presbyterian Church in Valentine. Inurnment followed at 2:00 PM at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Wood Lake. Memorials may be made to the family in her name.
