Funeral serviced for Dwite Sharp age 54 of Sparks will be held on Tuesday, July 21 at 2:00 PM at the United Methodist Church in Valentine. Burial will follow at the Sparks Cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, July 20 at 3:00 PM at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine. Mr. Sharp passed away on July 16 at his home south of Sparks.
Dwite Dee Sharp was born July 3, 1961 to Wayne and Doris Sharp at Valentine, NE. He was the youngest of their three children. He started his education at Shadley Creek until moving down to the river finishing his grade school years at Kewanee. Then going his freshman year at Keya Paha County High School and then switching to Cherry County High School for his last 3 years, graduating with the class of 1980.
Following high school he married Joyce Beman and to this union a daughter Amber Rae was born in 1982.
He joined the Navy on July 9, 1984 and served his country with honor for 9 years, traveling all over the world making many lasting friendships. Dwite returned to his beloved river, entering into the canoe and tubing business. Hunting and taking care of the wildlife were a great joy to him. He was known for his awesome gardening skills, his grilling of wonderful food to everyone's delight and the many cats he cared for and loved. He participated in bull riding in his younger years and still enjoyed watching and attending bull riding events.
Dwite passed away at his home July 16, 2015 at age 54. His grandparents preceded him in death. He is survived by his parents Wayne and Doris Sharp, brother Duane Sharp, sister Rita Rowan and husband Doug Stoeger, nephews and families Robert (Melissa) Rowan and children Anderson, and Ray, Anthony (Tisha) Sharp and children Jackson and Cassandra, and niece Amanda (Chad) Karlen and daughter Zoe. Also surviving are many loving family members and numerous friends.
