Forrest "Bud" Bonifield,87, of Cody, Nebraska passed away March 8, 2024 at the Rock County Hospital in Bassett, Nebraska with his four daughters at his side.

Bud was born January 31, 1937 in Hyannis, Nebraska to Forrest D and Georgia (Swiggart) Bonifield. He joined two older sisters. Bud grew up on the ranch South of Whitman, Nebraska and graduated from Hyannis Highschool in Hyannis, Nebraska. He married Darlene Becker in June of 1957.To this union 4 daughters were born. Bud and Darlene managed the Bonifield family ranch until purchasing their own ranch in 1985 South of Nenzel, Nebraska. Bud was actively managing the ranch at the time of his death. In 2021 Bud was inducted into the Sandhills Cowboy Hall of Fame. He was an avid rancher, member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Nenzel, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Bud is survived by his four daughters, Carla (Fritz) Cooley of Mullen, NE, Wanda (Barney) Ellis of Paradise TX, Linda (Scott) Anderson of Hyannis, NE and Kendra (Doug) Schneider of Cody, NE. He is also survived by 7 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bud is proceeded in death by his loving wife Darlene, his parents and sisters Shirley and Barbara Carr.

It was Bud's wish to have a private (immediate) family burial at a later date in the Hyannis Cemetery.

Memorials may be sent to Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Nenzel, Ne or the Hyannis Cemetery in Hyannis, Nebraska.
