Gary Kent Turbyfill Sr. was born September 23, 1955 in Elk Park, North Carolina. He was one of six children born to Loyd "Sonny" and Ramona (Wilhelm) Turbyfill. Gary passed away at his home in Valentine on June 28, 2012 at age 56.

Gary married Mary Beth Witt on June 14, 1987 in Valentine, Nebraska. They were blessed with two children Amie and Kent. Gary was a member of the Episcopal Church. For the last ten years Gary, worked at the Rosebud Casino as a security guard. The greatest joy in his life was his family and playing golf.

Preceding Gary in death were his parents Ramona and Sonny Turbyfill. He is survived by his wife Mary Beth of Valentine, daughter Amie Baxter and husband Richard of Georgia, son Kent Turbyfill Jr. of Valentine, brothers Starly (Denise) Turbyfill, Michael Turbyfill, Loyd Turbyfill and sisters Marcella Buchanan and Tammy Turbyfill. Also surviving are grandchildren Dalton, Brandon, Caitlin, Jaidin, Ariana, George and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Chapel of the Pines in Valentine. Pastor Corey Jenkins will officiate at the 2:00 P.M. service. Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was entrusted with arrangements.
