Obituary

George Allen Allard was born September 17th, 1951, to Donald and Ruth (Overman) Allard in Valentine, NE. He was the 3rd sibling with 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He attended grade school in Crookston, NE and graduated from Valentine High School in 1969. He worked for the Texaco gas station and for his family at their bar in Crookston during high school.

He purchased and managed Allard Precast and ready mix for over 50 years. He took pride in the manufacturing of many different concrete products. If someone needed a unique item, he would figure out a way to design and build a form to get the product constructed. He was thankful for his customers and the support they gave his hometown local business. George treated his employees like family and truly appreciated their loyalty and hard work. He enjoyed visiting with everyone who stopped by his shop. He was there from sunrise to sunset, many days helping with simple things like a bucket of gravel or big jobs that took time to plan out.

George loved to hunt and fish when time allowed. He had fond memories of going to South Dakota with his buddies and ice fishing. He also liked to hunt birds and did some taxidermy work, learning from his dad and by trial and error in his younger years.

He was married to Jennie Jo Perrett in 1969 and they had three daughters: Kandee, Kim and Sharee. They later divorced.

George had a strong love for the Catholic faith. He was baptized, received 1st communion and confirmation at St Mary's Church in Nenzel, NE. He truly enjoyed all the music at the services. George was a member of the Knights of Columbus and supported the church and community through their supportive works. After several years of working with the church his 1st marriage was annulled and he married Nadeane Tetherow on June 14th, 1986, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Valentine, NE. At that time, he also gained an additional daughter, Rachelle.

George loved his family and spent time taking them on trips to music concerts, Disneyland, and Disney World even though the summer was his busiest time at work. He also spent many summer days at the lake camping, fishing, boating, and water skiing with his immediate family, extended family, and friends. He took a lot of pride in teaching his daughters many life and leisure skills. George was an avid snow skier and enjoyed the annual Thanksgiving ski trip to Colorado. He would visit as many states as possible no matter what the season to explore caves, canyons, lakes, rivers, mountains, national monuments, museums, and cosmos. He had a passion for learning history and science. George also enjoyed reading, looking at pictures and memorabilia as well as hearing stories about the military since his dad, uncles, and brother were all soldiers. Leisure time became even more important to George with each addition to his family as he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Attending their birthday celebrations, sporting events, other activities and baptisms were a must. He wanted to make sure that they all knew how important they were and how much they were loved. Even more than his love for vanilla ice cream and oreo cookies.

George passed away 6-14-24 from heart and lung failure at CHI in Kearney, NE at the age of 72.
