Obituary

Harry LeRoy Jackson was born on August 5th, 1937, to Andrew and Ella (Zeitner) Jackson. He attended school at Crookston and graduated from Valentine High School. He went on to complete 4 years of higher education at Chadron State College.

While at CSC, he met and married Phyllis Barber in 1959. They then moved to Valentine where Harry worked on the family ranch with his dad, Andrew, and Uncle Henry. Harry and Phyllis raised 9 children.

Harry enjoyed many years serving as a volunteer Reserve Deputy for the Cherry County Sheriff's Department. He also enjoyed bowling and attending Classic Car Shows across the country. Many hours were spent in the shop tinkering with and rebuilding old cars, including his most current project, the "Ugly Truck". He had a knack for creating and redesigning new parts and pieces for his farm and ranch equipment to improve efficiencies. Sundays were spent at Big Alkali Lake waterskiing and enjoying time with family.

Whether it was traveling to see new places, or to meet up with relatives, Harry always enjoyed a road trip. He truly enjoyed a good, long conversation with many people

Harry shared his life with Phyllis, his wife of 65 years; his children Glenn Jackson of Valentine, NE; Nick (Terri) Jackson of Grand Junction, CO; Scott Jackson of Valentine, NE; Mark Jackson of Los Angeles, CA; Sally (Tim) Hanson of Valentine, NE; Marcy (Matt Legg) Mulligan of Tonkawa, OK; Linda (Chris) Mosner of Valentine, NE; Josh (Kristin) Jackson of Genesee, CO; Pat Jackson of Lakewood, CO; 14 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Harry passed away on October 3rd at his home north of Valentine.

He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew, and his mother, Ella.
