Hildegard Schemm age 99 was born at Pierce, NE, May 29, 1917 and passed away, Nov. 26, 2016 at Parkside Manor in Stuart, NE. She was the oldest of 5 children born to Fredrick and Dora (Grimm) Lehmann.
Hilda was baptized into the Lutheran faith as an infant and was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Mission, SD. She married Paul Schemm on Sept. 1, 1938 at Calvary Lutheran Church at Midway, SD. To this union 5 children were born. They raised their children and farmed at Midway, SD until 1959 when they moved to Valentine, NE.
Hildegard is survived by her children, Jean and Doug Tuttle of Gering, NE, Joyce Ohlmann of Valentine, NE, Edger and Bonnie of Ft. Collins, CO, Gordon of Valentine, NE, Janice and Ted Widhalm of Madison, NE; 18 grandchildren, 49 great-grandchildren, 27 great-great-grandchildren and brother, Albert Lehmann of Rapid City, SD. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Paul; brothers, Edger Lehmann, Raymond Lehmann; sister, Leona Holle and a son-in-law, Don Ohlmann.

Funeral service for Hildegard Schemm age 99 of Valentine will be held on Friday, Dec. 2 at 10:00 AM at Grace Lutheran Church in Valentine. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Valentine. Visitation will be on Thursday, Dec. 1 at 2:00 PM at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines. Mrs. Schemm passed away on Nov. 26 at Park Side Manor in Stuart, NE.
