As a young boy Howard enjoyed helping on the family farm in the Dry Creek area northwest of Valentine. This is where he attended country school. In 1950 his parents sold the farm and the family moved to Valentine. Howard was employed at Clements Furniture until he was called to serve in the military in 1953. His time was spent in the Army in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1955.
When he returned to Valentine he established Clinton Motors which was his business for many years. Howard then delivered the U.S. mail west and south of Valentine until he retired in 1998.
Howard is survived by two daughters, Leesa (Mark) Adamson of Valentine, NE and Jorja (Jeff) Spain of Seward, NE; 5 grandchildren: Daniel and Lesley Adamson; and Heather, Matthew and Samantha Spain; three siblings, Eva Jeanne Jones of Salt Lake City, UT, Lee Clinton of Seattle, WA and Zoe Ann (Dennis) Rumsey of Boring, OR; and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Howard chose to serve the Lord and follow the New Testament Doctrine of Jesus. He remained faithful to that choice. He was a kind, loving man and enjoyed helping others.
