Memorial services for James Albert Lurz,Sr 79, and Gladyce Lucille (Iodine) Lurz (Thornton) 75, of Ainsworth, Ne will be held at 1 pm October 1, 2022, in Valentine, Ne at the Methodist Church. James passed away March 2, 2022 and Gladyce passed away Sept. 12, 2020. Survivors include their children Laura (Robert) Cordes of Hettinger, ND, James Jr. (Barbara) of St. Paul, Ne, Chad Lurz and Mike Lurz both of Ainsworth, Ne. Grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Surviving siblings Henry Lurz, Virginia Lower and Larry Thornton. They were preceded in death by their parents Henry and Frances (Ward) Lurz and Virgil and Ruth (Brown) Thornton and siblings Norma Waits, Richard Lurz, Frances Guy, and Barbara Kriz. Gladyce was preceded in death by her uncle Cork Thornton and his family of Valentine. There will be no visitation before the service. The family requests no flowers. They request your presence following for a luncheon at the church. Donations are welcome and will be used for a memorial in James and Gladyces memory. A private interment will be held at Richland Harmony Cemetery. The family request that everyone that was a friend, family, considered themselves family to please attend. We wish to celebrate the life of James and Gladyce and share in the joy.
