Jeanette Ann (Hays) Keller of Valentine, NE, passed away at Callaway Good Life Center, Callaway, NE on Sunday, Feb. 23, 2020.  She was born on March 2, 1935, in Van Tassel, Wyoming.  Her parents were Milton and Bessie (Line) Hays.

Jeanette grew up and attended elementary and high school in Arnold, NE.  She graduated from Arnold High School in 1953 and received a Normal Training Certificate.  After graduation, she taught at a small country school north of Stapleton, NE for 2 years.  She then moved to southeastern Cherry County and taught school at Elizabeth District #102 School.  While teaching there, she met her future husband, Tom Keller.  They were married June 2, 1957.  They raised 3 children, Karen (Keller Hayes) and twins Donald (Don) and Delores (Dee).

Jeanette was a dedicated mother first and foremost.  She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them.  She tirelessly attended countless school, sports, 4H and church activities.  She especially loved her role as Grandma.  She was extremely proud of all of her grandchildren.  She loved spending time with them all and taking countless pictures and videos of everyone.  Her motto was "Have camera, will travel!"  She was also extremely talented at cooking and sewing.  Her cinnamon rolls were famous throughout her entire neighborhood and beyond.  Her fruit pizza, chocolate chip cookies and lemon bars weren't for behind either and were often requested earnestly be her family.  She would graciously whip up a batch in a moment's notice.  She was also a very accomplished seamstress and sewed countless garments and quilts for her family and friends over the years.  She was a dedicated member of the Elsmere Church for several years.  Her faith in God carried her through the many trials and tribulations in her life and helped her to face life head on with joy and optimism.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, Milton and Bessie, husband Tom, bother Earl and son Don.

She is survived by two daughters:  Karen (Keller Hays) of Denver, CO, Dee (Painter) and husband Tim of Valentine, NE, Grandchildren:  Zac Williams and wife Lyndze (great granddaughter, Zayla Williams and great grandson, Zandyr Williams) of Fremont, NE, Mandi Painter (great granddaughter, Kennadi Ross), Lindse Painter and Rhiannon Painter, all of Valentine, NE and sister:  Dee Judkins.

Service was held at the Elsmere Bible Church on Saturday, Feb. 29, 2020 at 2:00 PM.  Interment followed at the Purdum Cemetery.  Luncheon and fellowship followed interment at the Elsmere Bible Church.  Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine was in charge of service arrangements.
