Jennie Eva Odell Pound was born on November 2. 1929 to Clarence and Betty Odell in Thedford, NE. She was the oldest of five children. She passed away on December 14 at her home west of Brownlee, NE.
She went to grade and high school in Thedford and one year of Beauty College in Jacksonville, IL. She then married Dale Pound, December 30, 1948. They lived on the home ranch west of Brownlee. Jennie was a true Sandhiller, she loved the hills and all they stand for.
Jennie was a home maker a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Brownlee Women's Club for over 65 years and a member of the Thedford Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Bob; husband, Dale and one brother, Robert Odell. She is survived by daughters, Wanda Purdum and husband Terry of Mullen, NE; Jane Sherman and husband Galen of Valentine, NE; sisters, Jackie Hanks of AZ, Helen Rodgers of AZ and Artis Bailey of WY; sister-in-law, Betty Caulfield of Springview, NE. Also surviving are 5 grand Children; 12 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren and nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.
Funeral service for Jennie Pound will be held on Monday, Dec. 21 at 2:00 PM at the United Church of Christ in Thedford. Burial will follow at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Thedford. Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 3:00 PM at Sandoz Chapel.
