Jerry was born to Orin and Frances (Grow) Bachelor at Hastings, NE on July 8, 1942. He departed this life at the Ainsworth Care Center in Ainsworth, NE on November 22, 2011 at the age of 69.
Jerry grew up in Todd County, SD, attending The Longcor School, Located near his home. After grade school he pursued several years of high school at Curtis, NE.
Jerry spent the rest of his active life working on the ranch with his father (who passed away in 1957) and his two older brothers.
One of Jerry's pleasures in life was visiting with friends, relatives and sometimes persons who just happened to be close by. He enjoyed the Even Dozen Pinochle Club, bowling, motorcycles, four wheelers and coin collecting.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Harold Ray; and three nephews, Harold Wayne, Paul and Howard. He is survived by brothers, Richard (Faye) and Clinton (Edith); nephews and nieces, Jack Bachelor, David (Cindy) Bachelor, Cathy (Merlin) Sanders, Charles (Mary Beth) Bachelor and Janet Moon. Also surviving Jerry are numerous great nieces and nephews and one Aunt Dorothy Goodin of Greeley, CO and Uncle John Grow of Kansas City, MO.
Funeral service for Jerry Bachelor was held on Saturday, November 26 at the United Methodist Church in Valentine. Rev. Tom Lucas officiated at the 11:00 AM service. Burial followed at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine. Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was entrusted with service arrangements.
