In Memory of Jonathan Ryan Smith 27 who was called to Heaven April 19th, 2019 at his home in Pender, NE. Jonathan was born June 17th, 1991 in Cody, Wyoming. He spent his childhood years and education years in Valentine, Nebraska. He always called Valentine home. Jonathan was a welder At Thurston Manufacturing Blu Jet in Thurston, NE. He also volunteered his time with Thurston Fire & Rescue when needed. He was an active Church member of the Corner Stone Assembly in Pender, Ne. When not working you could find Jonathan hunting wild game, fishing, wild horse racing, and on Saturdays you could find him watching the Nebraska Corn Husker Game!!!
Jonathan was a family man, who loved with a BIG heart, especially his children Braison and Harmony. He loved coaching Braison in all the activities he participated in and along by his side was daddy's Little Girl Harmony.
Mr. Smith's character made it impossible for him not to make an impression on everyone he met, and a big impression he made. He was incredibly funny and loved to make people laugh. He was loved deeply and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Jonathan has gone to a better place so he can watch over us.
Jonathan is survived by Son Braison Smith age 7, Daughter Harmony Smith age 4 (Trina Myers Mother of Braison and Harmony) of Pender, NE. Mother Michelle Ricks (Raymond Shields) Wood Lake, NE, Father Gary L. Smith (Kerry Brown) of Tacoma, WA. Also surviving is Brother James Ricks, Sister Jesselyn Ricks, Brother Justin Smith, Sister Dakota Smith, Brother Brian Douglas and Susan Douglas (Mother to Dakota & Brian), Grandfather Gary W. Smith, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorials can be made to the Union Bank & Trust of Valentine, NE in the name of Jonathan R. Smith to be designated by the family at a later date.
Service for Jonathan Ryan Smith was held on Saturday, April 27 th at 10:00 AM at the Wood Lake Union Church in Wood Lake, Ne Burial followed at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Wood Lake, NE
