Obituary

Joseph William Blumenstock passed  away on the evening of Friday, May 10, 2019, as a result of a rollover vehicle accident on Merritt Dam Road, Valentine, Nebraska.

Joseph was born July 8, 1991 in Gordon, Nebraska to Fred and Nancy Blumenstock of Cody, Nebraska.  His older brother, Jake, and three older sisters, Katie, Corrie and Lynn welcomed him home.

Joseph attended Cody-Kilgore Public Schools where he enjoyed playing basketball, riding bikes and any other activities involving friends and family, especially if it might cause a slight heart attack to Fred and Nancy.  Throughout his life he lived life by pushing limits, patience and overall tempers of his family and friends.  After graduating from Valentine Community Schools in Valentine, NE, Joseph continued to push the limits by practicing mixed martial arts.  After realizing that wasn't his calling, he moved to Sheridan, Wyoming to join his dad, Fred and brother, Jake where he worked with Jake doing steel frame construction and garage door installation and service.

Sheridan, Wyoming also brought Joseph to the love of his life, Kelli (Garriffa).  Joseph and Kelli welcomed into their lives their beautiful daughter Brooklyn "B" and were married at her parents' home in Sheridan on August 6, 2016 surrounded by many family and friends.  All the energy that Joseph once used to stress his family, he soon used to build, raise and strengthen his family.  His love for Kelli and their relationship grew every day and his love for Brooklyn knew no bounds.  He loved them both with his whole heart and did everything he could for them.

Joseph gained more on the job training through Excalibur Construction and then joined the crew of Spartan Construction, where he worked with Kelli's brother, Phil.  At the time of his death, Joseph was working for Dan Hart Patrol Services out of Upton, Wyoming as a heavy equipment operator in the oil fields.  He was proud of the skills he had learned and the projects he worked on.

Joseph loved his family and friends with extreme intensity.  He had a big heart and was always the first one to offer help to anybody who needed it.  He knew how to fight for, love for, and live each moment to its fullest.  His smile, laugh and zest for life will be missed by many friends and family.  Joseph loved heading into the Big Horn mountains to camp, snowmobile, hunt and have a good time.

Joseph was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Blumenstock, who passed the week before he did.

Joseph is survived by his wife, Kelli, and daughter, Brooklyn, along with his dad, Fred (Pauline) Blumenstock, siblings Lynn (Bobby) Schott, Corrie (Randy Koperski) Tjaden, Jake (Amy) Blumenstock, and Katie (Jake) Helms and Kelli's parents, Bruce and Rochelle Garriffa, and brother Phil (Kristie) Garriffa.  His nieces and nephews, Tucker (Lynn), Kobe, Caleb, Kendall (Corrie), Riggin, Owen and Laraine (Jake), Tanner, Reata, Bay, Liza (Katie), and Lexie, Jaxson and Maverick (Phil) will remember their fun-loving uncle and how he always loved to tease and play with them.

Memorial Services for Joseph will be at a later date in Sheridan, Wyoming.  Sandoz Chapel of the Pines is in charge of arrangements.
