Obituary

Judy Marie Krajeski was born in Valentine, NE on January 20, 1945 to Paul and Ruth Krajeski. Judy was full of life in so many ways and touched many hearts on her journey through life despite having profound developmental disabilities.

Judy was moved to Beatrice State Developmental Center in 1947, where caregivers could assist with her special needs. She remained there until 2008, when she moved to a residential home at Lexington, NE. She shared an apartment with a female peer and loved the company of the seven other individuals living in the complex. She enjoyed the loving support of her sister, Susan Johnson, who became her guardian in 1984 and the wonderful caregivers who provided for her individual needs.

Judy loved music - especially Elvis. She loved hearing bells and watching fireworks. Judy had a sense of humor and was very social. She enjoyed shopping trips and the friendship of those she met. She treasured the outdoors and enjoyed walks to the park. Judy participated in retirement activities at the Adult Development Center in Cozad and attended Mass at St. Ann's Catholic Church, Plum Creek Care Center, and Park Avenue Estates. She enjoyed dances and games at the Grand Generation Center.

Judy was diagnosed with cancer in January 2013, and with hospice care remained in her apartment at Lexington, NE until her death on February 23, 2013 in the company of her beloved caretakers and sister Susan.

She is survived by her siblings Betty Jean (Carroll) Peterson of Valentine, NE, James Krajeski of Corte Madera, CA, and Susan (John) Johnson of Cody, NE. She is survived by four nephews and three nieces along with 17 great nieces and nephews and two great, great nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one niece.

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Mary's Church at Nenzel, NE on February 26, 2013. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery at Nenzel, NE.

Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was in charge of arrangements. Memorials can be made to South Central Developmental Services at 821 J St., Cozad, NE 69130.
