Obituary

Kenneth Lee Green, 68, of Valentine was born December 19, 1947 to Lloyd L. Green and Margaret B. Havemann Green in Valentine, NE.


Ken was an avid sportsman playing football, basketball, track and baseball. From the time he was a little tyke, he played in some kind of sports, mainly baseball. He also coached baseball for many years. He loved the game of golf and like the other sports he excelled. He graduated from Valentine High School in 1966 and then attended Kearney State College earning a Bachelor's degree.


He married Linda Shamis in 1968 and to this union 5 children were born, Shawn, Ashly, Brock, Toby and Jared. They lived in Wichita KS for a time when Ken worked for Coca-Cola. The family moved back to Valentine and worked for Sandhills Insurance Agency. Kenny later purchased

He married the love of his life Vicki Morris on August 28, 2010 in Las Vegas, NV. They made their home in Valentine, the house that Ken built. Kenny & Vicki traveled extensively to Mexico, Hawaii, and the Dominican Republic. They also enjoyed attending Husker football games.

Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd & Margaret, son Shawn, and stepson Jim Morris. Survived by wife Vicki; daughter Ashly of Jacksonville, FL; sons Brock (Michelle) of Virginia Beach, VA, Toby (Tereshel) of Omaha, NE, and Jared of Portland, OR; stepdaughter, Kelly Morris of Stapleton, NE; sister Pat (Jack) Wiechelman of Valentine, NE; brother Tom (Diane) Green of Lincoln, NE; Grandchildren, Alexis (Tyler) Caulkins, Braxton Green, Hunter, Dalton, and Kaimeah Koike, Demi, Addison, Landon, and Ried Green, Bella and Shawn Green, Taylor Morris, and great-grandchild Baker Caulkins; Nieces Lacey (Mark) Mundorf of Wood Lake, Abbey (Andrew) Petersen, Jessie (Justin) Hart all of Lincoln, nephews T.J. and Scott Wiechelman both of Valentine, and 5 great nieces and nephews.
Kenny had a dry sense of humor and quick wit about him. He always took the high road and was very non-confrontational. He was very loved!

Funeral service was held on Saturday, Oct 15 at 10:00 AM at the United Methodist Church in Valentine. Burial will be at a later date. Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was in charge of service arrangements.
