IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Kobe Lee
Charging
July 20, 2002 – April 7, 2025
Kobe Lee Charging "Bud", 22 years old, was born on July 20, 2002 in Cheyenne, WY. Kobe lost his battle to synovial sarcoma, a very rare, aggressive form of cancer on April 7, 2025 in Alliance, NE in the arms of loved ones.
Kobe graduated from Valentine High School in 2021. After graduation, Kobe continued to serve the community of Valentine through his work at Cherry Hills Estate. He worked there for 5 years starting in his high school years. Kobe started as a server and in his senior year, advanced to a cook. Kobe was an excellent cook and truly enjoyed cooking for his friends and family.
Kobe was a shy guy with a heart of gold. He had a quirky sense of humor and was a joy to be around. Everyone who knew Kobe would say he was a very kind soul. He was very sincere with a sense of great integrity. Kobe loved his friends and family. Besides cooking, he enjoyed road trips, going to the lake, swimming, and also treasured his alone time watching movies and sharing entertainment with close friends and family. He had long-lasting friendships and was very thoughtful and always kept in touch with people close to him.
Kobe had been living in Atkinson, NE when he was diagnosed with cancer. At 21 years old, he was given some hard news. He was told it was too late but he would be able to start treatments and they would be able to extend his time as long as possible. Kobe is a fighter and he chose to go through treatment and fight as hard as he could. Kobe moved back to Valentine and with the love and support of his family, Kobe fought a tough battle. Kobe fought for 11 months before he lost his battle at the young age of 22.
It was once said, you don't know how strong you really are until being strong is the only option you have. Kobe was very strong and very brave. He knew his time was short but never quit making plans. To Kobe, his time was precious and he treated every day he was given like a new day. Even in his short life, he touched the lives of those around him and will forever live on in our hearts.
Kobe is survived by his mother Michelle Rose, father Jesse Charging, sister Tyra Charging, sister Mackenzie Jimenez, brother Quintin Charging, grandmother Janelle Rose, grandfather Richard Rose, grandmother Ora Charging, great grandmother Joan Starr and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and his fiancé Charlie Gallegos and her son, Mateo.
Not only did Kobe enjoy cooking, he also enjoyed eating! So as we celebrate Kobe's life, please join us for his favorite Indian Tacos made by his Grammy, Jan Rose.
