Lloyd Benjamin Paxton was born on November 22, 1943, to Melvin and Matilda (Weihe) Paxton.

He attended school and graduated from Valentine High School.

Lloyd joined the United States Navy and served from 1961 and received an Honorable Discharge in 1967.  He was very proud of his Military service.  Lloyd married Marlene Rhoades on December 30, 1980, in Pierre, SD. They had one son, Brian Paxton.

Lloyd was Valentine's HVAC go to guy for many years.  He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards with the guys.  He was a member of the American Legion for many years.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Matilda, his wife, Marlene, his brothers, Jim, Val, Kenny and sister, Laura Malone.

He is survived by his son Brian, brothers, George (Clara), Phil (Kim) Dave (Sarah), sister, Rosella Sydow and sister-in-law Beverly Paxton. Lloyd is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial service for Lloyd Paxton was held on Monday, September 9, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine, Ne.  The inurnment followed at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Valentine.  Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was in charge of service arrangements.
