Loren Dean Elliott, age 79, of Valentine, Nebraska, passed away on October 25, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.

Loren was born on August 2, 1946, in Thedford, Nebraska, to Harry and Tracy Elliott. He attended Antelope Valley and Thedford Elementary Schools and graduated from Thedford High School in 1965.

After graduation, Loren proudly served four years in the United States Navy.

In his younger years, Loren worked on several ranches before driving a cattle truck for Melvin McIntosh for many years. He later worked on the Ted Turner Ranch, where they raised buffalo, before making his final move to Valentine. Loren also enjoyed his years working for Valentine Livestock Company, where he made many lasting friendships.

Loren had a love for the outdoors and could often be found fishing, hunting, or playing golf. He also cherished time spent with his coffee buddies and friends, and he always enjoyed a good game of cards.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Tracy Elliott; sister, Delores (Myron) Barnes; brother, Ron Elliott; nephews, Michael Elliott and Shawn Elliott; niece, Julie Parks; and nephew-in-law, Zane Long.

Loren is survived by his brothers, Bill (Connie) Elliott of Thedford, NE, and Wayne (Merri Ann) Elliott of Cozad, NE; sister-in-law, Virginia Elliott of Valentine, NE; and the families of Tammy (Brian) Maseberg of Lakewood, Co.,  Terry (Bonnie) Elliott of Thedford, Ne., Randy (Roberta) Barnes of Halsey, NE, Wyatt (Kelli) Barnes of Brady, NE, Mark (Jamie) Barnes of Billings, Mt., Vicki Barnes-Trisdale of Grant City, Mo., Deb Long of Valentine, NE, Matthew (Shyann) Elliott of Eyota, Mn., and Justen Elliott of Cozad, NE.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 8th, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Thedford, Nebraska.  Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine is entrusted with service arrangements.
