Funeral service for Mae Hahn age 89 of Valentine will be held Friday, January 31st at 1:30 at the United Methodist Church in Valentine. Mrs Hahn passed away on Tuesday at Pine View in Valentine. Visitation will begin at 1:00 on Thursday at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines.
Delores Mae Hahn daughter of Joseph and Anna (Epke) Hronek was born May 14, 1992 three miles north east of Crookston, Nebraska. She received her early education at Lakeview Elementary School and then attended and graduated from Mission High School.
Mae married Clem "Bill" Hahn on March 6, 1946 in Valentine, Nebraska. They spent their married life farming north of Valentine where they raised their 5 children; Patty, Robert, Larry, Linda and Joyce. Mae worked for 20 years for the U.S. Postal Service including 10 years as Postmaster in Crookston, NE.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Valentine and Homemakers Extension Club. Mae volunteered as a Pink Lady at Cherry County Hospital. She enjoyed making angel food cakes for her friend's birthdays. She was also famous for her baking skills, especially her wonderful banana cream pies. May collected Fenton glass and enjoyed her extensive collection.
Mae passed away January 28, 2014 at Pine View Good Samaritan Home. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Anna Hronek, and her husband Clem "Bill" Hahn who passed away April 15, 1980. She is survived by her children; Patty Wagner (David) of Custer, SD, Robert (Ryn) of Plattsmouth, NE, Larry (Mary Hurd) of North Platte, NE, Linda Hahn of Valentine, NE, and Joyce Boyer of Maple Grove, MN. Also surviving are Grandchildren Phil Wagner, Emily Hardy, Scott Wagner, Tim Hahn, Brendt Hahn, Jeff Hahn, John Boyer, and Christa Boyer and eleven Great Grandchildren,
