Maedeane (Neumeyer) Rodgers was born on October 23, 1943 in rural Garfield county near Burwell/Sargent, NE to Vernon "Tude" Neumeyer and Treva L. (Ballard) Neumeyer.  The middle of three children, she moved from Sargent to Valentine in 1953 where she was raised and graduated from Valentine High School in May of 1962.

Maedeane married Don Rodgers December 30, 1962 in Valentine.   The couple moved a few times before they settled down in Valentine to raise their family.  To this union, three children were born: Bradley Dean, Brett Alan and Lisa Dawn.  Maedeane raised her family on a ranch south of Valentine and later moved the family to Valentine where she remained for the rest of her life.

Maedeane helped Don at the ABC Ranch and worked at several bank branches throughout her career, including, Nebraska State Bank, Bank of Valentine and Abbott Bank among some.  She then proudly ran for the office of the Clerk of District Court in which she won the county office in 1990 and took the oath of office in January 1991.  She continued to serve the county for the next 24 years until her retirement in 2014.  She adorned her vehicle with the license plate "wheels of justice" showing her pride and respect of the office she held.

In her spare time, Maedeane loved to spend time in her home and work in the yard.  She spent hours on her computer writing and rewriting poems and making cards for family and friends on their special occasions.  She loved her family and was very proud of all  of them.  She especially treasured spending time with her grandchildren.  She faithfully attended as many activities, games and programs of her grandchildren as she could.  She took time with her special "Amigos" and had friend outings and adventures.

Maedeane passed away on June 26, 2024, at Columbus Community Hospital in Columbus, NE at the age of 80 years old.  Maedeane was proceeded in death by her parents Vernon and Treva Neumeyer, sister Marianne Forrest and husband of over 25 years, Don Rodgers.  She is survived by her children, Brad Rodgers of Valentine; Brett (Debbie) Rodgers of Brandon, SD and Lisa (Todd) Mathis, of Valentine: Grandchildren: Lauren Lewars of Denver, CO; Lisa (Brandon) Sandoz of Sioux Falls, SD; Skylar (fiancée Ben Hartwig) Mathis of Kansas City, MO; Macey (Preston) Hall of Sioux Falls, SD; Hadley Rodgers of Rapid City, SD; Sheldyn Rodgers of Spearfish, SD and Stockton Rodgers of Valentine.  Also surviving are brother Dennis (Terre) Neumeyer of Las Vegas, NV and many loving nieces and nephews.

Graveside memorial services and burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine on Saturday, August 10th at 10 am.  Maedeane's cousin Scott Ballard and the family will be presiding over the service.
