Obituary

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" (II Timothy 4:7). Margaret B. Havemann Green, 86, of Valentine passed from this life on November 5, 2011 at Cherry County Hospital surrounded by her family to begin her new journey.

Margaret was born on October 9, 1925 in Center, NE the fifth child born to Gustave and Daisey Hlousek Havemann . While still a child she moved to Mission, SD with her family, where she received her schooling. On December 14, 1946 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Lee Green in Bassett, NE and made their home in Valentine. They were blessed with 61 years of marriage before Lloyd's passing in 2008. To this union 3 children were born, Kenneth Lee, Patricia Ann, and Thomas Lloyd.

First and foremost in Margaret's life was Jesus, her Lord and Saviour. She enjoyed reading her bible and being a mighty "prayer warrior". Before her own health failed, she belonged to numerous bible studies and prayer groups. She enjoyed spending time on the phone praying for people or having them stop at the house for a cookies, cinnamon rolls and a prayer. Margaret was a member of the United Methodist Church, American Legion Auxiliary, and Royal Neighbors of America.

Margaret was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved being a homemaker, as well as mastering all types of needle work.After her children were older, she worked for Montgomery Ward, Bricker's and Red Front Merchantile. She was a loving caregiver to her own family, her husbands family and to anyone who asked. She dearly enjoyed Sundays, Church, and afterward dinner with Ivan and Lois Stewart, Lloyd and Margarets dear friends. After moving to Cherry Hills Estate she loved her outings with her long time friend Dorothea Cook.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Patricia (Jack) Wiechelman of Valentine, Kenneth (Vicki) of Valentine and Thomas (Diane) of Lincoln. Grandchhildren Ashly (Chris) Koike, Brock (Michelle) Green, Toby (Tereshel Johnson) Green, Jared Green, T.J. (Lisa) Wiechelman, Scott Wiechelman, Lacey (Mark) Mundorf, Abbey (Andrew) Peterson and Jessie Green. Great granchildren, Alexa and Braxton Green, Hunter, Dalton and Kaimeah Koike, Demitria, Addison, Landon and Reid Green, Isabella and Shawn Green, Leah Wiechelman, Holden and Haddie Mundorf. One sister Catherine (Bud) Pavlik of Kilgore, Ne, and many neices and nephews.

Those who have preceded her and are greeting her now include her husband, Lloyd; her mother and father; brothers, Herman and Ernest Havemann; and sisters, Helen Jamison, Alice Harp, Bernice Dunham, Bertha McKay; and Grandson Shawn Lee Green.

She will be extremely missed but never forgotten.

Funeral services were Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the United Methodist Church in Valentine, with Pastors Tom Lucas and Dave Householter officiating. Pallbearers were her Grandsons Brock, Toby, and Jared Green, T.J., Scott Wiechelman, Mark Mundorf and Great Grandson Braxton Green. Burial was in Mount Hope Cemetary, Valentine, NE

Memorials may be made to the Sandhills Cancer Fund in care of the family. Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was in charge of arrangements.
