Marthena R. Lamoureaux passed away Friday May 22, 2020 at the Pine View Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Valentine, NE.

Marti was born in rural Cherry County Nebraska near Goose Creek on March 26, 1923.  She was the 6 ^th child born to Carl A. and Ruth (Keller) Micheel.

She attended rural schools during her elementary years and attended high school in Curtis and Valentine, NE.  She graduated from high school in Evanston, IL.  Marti married her high school sweetheart Glen Lamoureaux on Nov. 16, 1942.  To this union three children were born, John "Jack", Mary Lee and Nancy.

Marti was a member of the Sandpainters Art Club and the Presbyterian Church.  Marti left a legacy of beautiful art work for people to enjoy for years to come.  The Sandhills were her favorite subject to paint.  She once said she could look at those beautiful rolling hills forever.

Marti is survived by daughters Mary Lee Grooms of Valentine and Nancy (Dale) Kalenda of Cody, NE. daughter-in-law Regina Lamoureaux of Valentine.  Grandchildren Scott Grooms of Valentine, Katie (Craig) O'Kief of Wood Lake, NE, Jake (Carey) Lamoureaux of Wawota, Canada, Bill (Torie) Lamoureaux of Valentine, Daniel (Kasi)Gudgel of Valentine, Marcy (Jason) Rahn of Piedmont, SD.  She is also survived by 16 Great Grandchildren Kyle, Shelby, Brandon, Jake, Logan, Jack, Will, Olivia, Brenden, Gracie, Aaron, Jayden, Chloe, Keagan, Haizin and Trayvn. Sister Betty Bennett of Martin, SD.

She is preceded in death by her husband Glen, her son Jack, son-in-law Edgar Grooms.   Brothers Leon Micheel, Melvin Micheel, and Jack Micheel.   Sisters Margaret (Dave) Robertson, Leila (Earl) Johnson and Dorothy (Al) Randall.  Granddaughter Amber Ann Gudgel, Great granddaughter Molly Lyn Grooms.

A private family inurnment will take place Saturday May 30 ^th at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine, NE.

Memorials may be made to the Sandpainters Art Guild, American Cancer Society or the donor's choice.
