Michael Wade Davenport was born to Wade and Pauline Davenport on June 11, 1940, in Huntington Park, California.  Michael passed away on May 20, 2023, at Parkside Manor in Stuart, Nebraska.

Michael graduated from North Shore County Day School and went on to graduate from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York.  He joined the California Army National Guard in January of 1965 and was honorably discharged in January of 1971.

He managed The Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco, California for many years.  In the mid 1990's Michael moved to Valentine to help care for his aging parents and he continued living here happily for the rest of his life.

Michael enjoyed reading, history and watching San Francisco Giants baseball and San Francisco 49ers football.  He was a member of the Valentine Library Board.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Wade and Pauline and cousins, Bruce Kreycik and Brian Davenport.

He is survived by first cousins, David, Kevin, Richard and Gary Davenport, David, Mike and Ann Kreycik, Carol Erickson (Cumbow), Susan Kerr (Cumbow), Bill Cumbow, Mary McKay (Cumbow), Nancy Aal (Cumbow).  Also, close friends, Anne and Bill Quigley.

Michael's request was to have no funeral service.  Inurnment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine.  Sandoz Chapel of the Pines in Valentine was entrusted with arrangements.
