Obituary

Nick Linenbrink from Eli, Nebraska, died peacefully and suddenly on his Eli ranch July 6,
2012. Born April 16, 1932, in Callaway, Nebraska, the Linenbrink family lived there until they moved to Cherry Co. Nick graduated from Cody High School and afte graduating was drafted into the Army. Following his service duties, he ranched for the remainder of his life. As a successful rancher he lived in Eli, Nebraska, for sixty-five years.

As a rancher, Nick was actively interested in better and more contemporary ways to care for his cattle. A gentle man himself, Nick was always gentle with the land and with his cattle.

Always an avid admirer of nature with its many varieties, Nick knew every bird with their variety of colors and seasonal flights.

With his keen sense of humor and quick wit, Nick could amuse anyone in conversation with him. Nick never forgot any person he ever met and could often recall much of their family history.

Nick was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Martin.

Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Margaret Linenbrink and his brothers, John, Vince and Bill.

Survivors include one brother, Jim (Lorraine) from Omaha and his sisters: Mary Snyder from Alliance, Cecilia Linenbrink, O.S.F., from Denver, Co., Jo Marshall from Scottsbluff, Joan Linenbrink, O.S.F. from Alliance, Verna Stasch from Westminster, Clara Linenbrink from Omaha, Kate Linenbrink from Bridgpeort, and Henrietta Linenbrink from Golden. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

A Wake will be held Wednesday, July 11, 7:00 p.m. at Our Lady of The Sacred Heart Church in Martin, So. Dak. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, July 12, 10:00 a.m. at the same location. Internment will be at St. Elizabeth Catholic Cemetery in Merriman, Nebraska.
