Patricia L. "Pat" Bachelor-Showalter, 91, passed away, Tuesday, September 5, 2023, at Cherry Hills Assisted Living in Valentine.

Pat was born August 1, 1932, in Omaha, NE, to Elmer and Elizabeth (Eichman) Bachelor. She received her education in Wood Lake, Valentine and finally graduated from Wessington Springs, South Dakota.

Pat married John Lee in Valentine. They made their home in White River where they owned and operated a grocery/dry good store for several years. After their divorce, Pat worked for an attorney, ASCS office in Ainsworth and White River. She married Max Showalter, and they enjoyed their retirement together.

Pat was a past member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and doing seamstress work. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra K. Assman of White River, SD; son, Robert L. Lee of Mission, SD; along with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max Showalter; brother, William "Billy" Bachelor, and an infant brother.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Valentine Methodist Church in Valentine with Pastor Jake Schadel officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine. Visitation will be Saturday at the church from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
