Obituary

Phyllis Marie Kramer was born to Ren and Sylvia (Copeland) Kramer on January 26, 1945 in Valentine, Nebraska.  A few minutes later her twin brother Fredrick Gordon Kramer made his appearance.  They had a big brother Robert waiting at home and a year and a half later brother Lee joined the family.

Phyllis, (despite 3 brothers teasing) grew and attended country schools along the Niobrara River until 1957 when she lost her father.  Phyllis and her family moved to Valentine where she continued her education in the Valentine school system.

After attending Cosmetology school in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Phyllis returned to Valentine, Nebraska where for many years she owned and operated her own beauty shop.  Her ability to cut, curl and color along with her loving and giving personality made many lives beautiful.  Phyllis was also quite a seamstress and a very good cook.

Phyllis met Fred Duryea and on December 26, 2000 they were married in Pierre, South Dakota.  Dagin stood up with his dad that day and from that day a special Mother-Son relationship developed and grew between Phyllis and Dagin.

In 2006 Phyllis and Fred started FRED'S BAIT SHOP.  Phyllis worked along side of Fred and they spent many days and long hours together to make a successful business.

After selling the shop their hopes of travel and adventure were limited due to Phyllis' failing health issues.  Phyllis dealt with various health problems through much of her life but the last several years the problems multiplied and had become overwhelming.  She dealt with all of it gracefully and always answered "I'm fine" right up to the end.  She found peace and the end of her earthly struggles on November 30, 2019 at PineView Good Samaritan with her husband Fred, the love of her life, holding her hand.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Fred Duryea, Step'son Dagin Duryea and "The Boys"

Moe Joe and Buddy (the puppies), Brother Robert (Kay) Kramer, Brother Lee Kramer, Sister-in-law Brenda Kramer, along with 5 nephews; Bill, Ren, Gordon, DR, Jeff and families, 4 nieces; Patty, Dottie, Berta, Robyn and families, Mother-in-law Irene Ohmberger, Brother-in-law Eddie (Patty) Duryea, Sister-in-law Tammy (Ernie) Kleeb,  many other family members and friends.
