Richard Goodwin, 74, passed away Sunday July 18, 2021.  Richard was born on December 28, 1946, in Gordon, NE and grew up on a ranch south of Kilgore.  He attended Plum Brush District 73 North for grade school and went on to the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture in Curtis, NE for high school.  Richard was united in marriage to Janet Nelson and had two children and were later divorced.

Richard worked as a ranch hand at the Gwen ranch in Cody, the Kuhlman ranch in North Platte.  Richard took an apprenticeship with the Union Pacific Railroad as an electrician where he worked for several years.  After the railroad, Richard opened a leather shop named Poor Richards in North Platte, NE.   Richard continued his love for ranching in Arkansas where he died peacefully at home.

Richard is survived by his wife Kathy, son Rick (Oksana) and daughter Robyn (Brad). Grandchildren Kile (MaryDale) Goodwin, Angus (Veronica) Goodwin, Heather (Wes) Bogenrief, Slade McClain and Sage Vance.  Great grandchildren Memphis, Laura and Ezra.  Sister, Barbara Cornett, nephews Jerry (Cami) & Mike (Serena) Cornett , brother Robert (Mavis) nieces Tina (Rory) Edwards, Julie (Bill) Mackley, nephew Scott and brother Jack (Donna), niece Kristin (Shane) Freeze.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Margaret Goodwin and his brother-in-law Chuck Cornett.

Graveside services will be held at the Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Cody, NE on Monday, July 26 ^th at 10 a.m. mountain time.
