Ruth Marie (Morgan) Linabery, 81, of Valentine, NE passed away on July 25, 2019.  Ruth was born on January 7, 1938 to Jennings and Helen (Parker) Morgan in Rosebud, SD.  Ruth grew up in the Littleburg/Hidden Timber neighborhood on the ranch with her parents.  Ruth attended St. Mary's Catholic High School in O'Neill, NE for two years and finished her education graduating from Todd County High School, in Mission, SD.

Ruth was united in marriage to Leo Linabery on March 22, 1959.  Ruth and Leo had two sons and one daughter, Brad, Monte and Misty.  Over the years, she worked as an operator for the phone company in Valentine, as a secretary for Valentine High School, office manager at Cherry-Todd Electric and a book keeper for the Rosebud Sioux Tribe and later at the Rosebud Casino.  Ruth's biggest job was as full time ranch wife and mother.  She was known for her great cooking and always had a meal ready for anybody who came to help on the ranch or just happened to show up at meal time.  Ruth had a reputation for the best branding dinner in the county. She was a member of St. Bridget's Catholic Church in Rosebud, SD and more recently, St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Valentine.  Ruth served many years as a 4-H leader and was often called upon to be a judge for county fairs across the area.  She was an active member of the Lady Bugs club and enjoyed crafts, crocheting and quilting.  Ruth was an avid reader.  She loved cookbooks and would often read them cover to cover.  She especially enjoyed having family and friends come to visit.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Jennings and Helen Morgan, brothers Wayne and Arthur Morgan and infant brother Paul and infant sister Shirley.

Ruth is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leo, her children Brad (Laurie) of Fairmont, NE; Monte (Kathy) of rural Todd County, and Misty Hays (Jerry) of Dickinson, ND; her eight grandchildren, Trent Linabery (Kelsey) of Henderson, NE; Shayde Linabery (Katie) of McCool Junction, NE; Kassidy Linabery of Lincoln, NE; Leah Hays of Casper, WY; Morgan Hays and Jacey Hays of Douglas, WY; Trace Hays of Grand Forks, ND and Jamie Hays of Dickinson, ND; four great grandchildren, Hudson, Pieper, Leo and Brooks and two brothers Clarence (Linda) of Buffalo, WY and Dale of Valentine, NE and two sisters-in-law, Doris Morgan of Valentine, NE and Della Morgan of Oklahoma City, OK.

A Rosary service will be held Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at 7 pm at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, in Valentine, NE.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church  followed by internment in Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine, NE.  No Visitation will be held.
