Sandra Jacqueline Ormesher (Suhr) was born to Jack and Charlotte (Butt) Suhr on July 12, 1939 in Tecumseh, Nebraska. Sandra graduated from Tecumseh High School and attended the University of Nebraska where she met Donald LeRoy Ormesher.
Sandra and Donald were united in marriage on August 30, 1959 in her hometown of Tecumseh. After Donald graduated college, they moved to his family ranch southeast of Valentine, Nebraska. This marriage was blessed with three children. Jacqueline, Susan, and Mark.
Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and great-grand children. On any given day you would find Sandi doing what she loved -- embroidering quilts for family members, reading mystery books, baking to keep her cookie box full for family and friends when they stopped by and adding to her bell collection. Sandi enjoyed her morning walks to the barn to feed the cats, driving with Don to check windmills, seeing the new calves; bottle feeding those that needed a little more attention.
Keeping busy with her favorite organizations was another joy in her life. She was a member of the Our Savior Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She belonged to the Area 17 Cattlewomen, Friends of the Library, and Badlands/Sandhills Earth and Science Club. Sandra also enjoyed volunteering at the Cherry County Specialty Clinics.
Sandi passed away on November 23, 2013 at Nebraska Heart Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Sandi is survived by her husband Donald, brother Thomas Suhr and wife Debra, daughters Jacqueline Brenton and husband Bennett, Susan Ries and husband Steve, and son Mark Ormesher and wife Kami. Grandchildren Brooks, Kassandra and Brett Brenton, Stacia (Ries) Woodhead and husband Danny, Sloan (Ries) Hartman and husband James, Brandon, Tyler, Nicholas and Trevor Ormesher.
