Shirley E. Boje was born August 13, 1945 in Valentine, NE to Glen Edward and Frances Grace (Claussen) Boje. Shirley attended school in Valentine and graduated from Valentine High School. She continued her education at Beauty School in Lincoln, NE.

Shirley worked with her son Sean in his canoe business on the Niobrara River. She booked canoe and tube trips for people from all over Nebraska and beyond. Shirley was loved and often talked about by the people she worked with and the people she helped with canoe trips. She loved her son Sean and all of their colorful friends and clients on the Niobrara River. It truly was her greatest joy! Shirley's smile and her attitude will be greatly missed on the river and in the Valentine community.

Shirley passed away Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Cherry County Hospital in Valentine; She was preceded in death by he parents Glen and Frances Boje and Brother Kenneth Boje. She is survived by her son Sean Boje of Valentine and Brother Dwight Boje of Bowling Green, KY.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 25th at Mount Hope Cemetery in Valentine.
