William Mathias Hoffman was born in Valentine, Nebraska on December 30, 1947 to Walter and Eva (Marshall) Hoffman.  He passed away on December 28, 2025 at his home in Valentine, Nebraska.

William was never married. He enjoyed working puzzles.  He worked as a custodian at the Valentine High School and also a housekeeper at the Cherry County Hospital.

He is survived by sisters, Janis Davis, Joan (Jerry) Knuth and sister-in-law Jeanie Hoffman and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Garnet Smith, Mary Lou Curtis, Alice Weihe, and Martha Kelly, brothers, Arnold and Clarence. Half brothers and sisters, Cecil, Lavern, Dwaine, Adelia Deterville, Elaine Sanford, and Dorothy Nelsen.

A Celebration of Life for Willy Hoffman will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Sandoz Chapel of the Pines.  A private family inurnment will take place at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Valentine.  Sandoz Chapel of the Pines was entrusted with service arrangements.
