The Sandoz Family opened Chapel of the Pines funeral home in 1980 in a serene canyon-side home above the beautiful Minnechaduza Creek in Valentine, Nebraska.
Since then, the property has seen radical remodeling wherein a chapel, two car garage, state room, covered entry and handicap ramp were added.
For the past 30 years the Sandoz Family has been heavily involved in the communities and areas where they live and work; both in Cherry County NE & Todd County SD. The family gives and donates much time, money, and effort to the areas of healthcare, education, and philanthropy.
They are members of Nebraska Funeral Directors Association, South Dakota Funeral Directors Association as well as the National Funeral Directors Association.
Mr. David M. Sandoz is the past president of the Nebraska Funeral Directors Association,and The Sandhills Area Foundation.
The Sandoz’s were selected as Valentine Citizens of the Year at the annual Valentines Day Coronation.
